We're not expecting to see FSD quickly, because handling all of the unusual cases is hard - and will take time. But we are expecting the software to start using all 8 cameras sooner, and even in driver assist mode the software should be better than AP1 and AP2 today.

I think there is no doubt that AP will continue to progress toward the holy grail of FSD. Right now it's pretty good but still a bit slow in picking up cars moving around it, especially if they cut across right in front. It's obviously still very limited in its scope, whether it be hardware, software or more likely both. I think anyone who expects to become a totally passive passenger any time soon on a typical journey will be disappointed. Would you literally trust your life to a first generation FSD system? I know I wouldn't!
