My wife knows I'll take any excuse for a spin in the Roadster. I'm sure I've taken over 100 people out for a Tesla Grin by now.
So my wife was chatting to one of the young Barristas we've gotten to know at the local Starbucks, as she was ending her shift. Turns out she likes cars - actually took auto mechanics in school - and lives not far away, so my wife offered that I could give her a ride home in my Roadster. She enthusiastically agreed.
As we are heading out of the parking lot, she comments on how smooth the car is. Then she asks, "What's that sound I'm hearing?"
"That's the gearbox."
"Oh. Your wife said you drove down to Toronto last week; how was the trip?"
"Really good, we just had to stop in Ganonoque to charge."
"Charge?"
"Uhm, yeah."
"What do you mean charge?"
"Uh, it's an electric car."
"NO WAY!"
Seemed like a really good time to hit the throttle...
