FWD door issue after 8.0 upgrade?

My FWDs are working better in my garage now actually. It used to try to hit the metal hook (see pic, I had to stop it with my hand) but now it doesn't. I don't know what they did.

As for door closing on your foot... not that it didn't happen to me but I closed the door myself from accidentally clicking the fob (I love and hate this feature). It's far from getting sore from that...

I will let you all know what was fixed (and if it works!) once I pick up my car from the SC today (hopefully!). The service advisor did say that a new patch for some of these straggler issues is either available already or will be available very soon. Ill check the firmware version once I pick up the car.

There has been talk of this over in the S forums but so far nobody has come up with a way and one person asked at a service center and they said no. But that was not the official stance. You could send a note to [email protected]
Here is the official response on reverting to V 7.1:

Thank you for reaching out to Tesla Technical Support.

First of all, I am sorry to hear that you hurt your foot. Hope you are doing better now.

Once the version 8.0 is installed, it is not possible to revert back to version 7.1.

However, I would like to assign this issue to the local service center (Tesla Service Rockville) so that they can look into this matter.

You should expect to hear from them in 1-2 business days.

Feel free to contact us again in case of further questions/concerns.

Best Regards,

So picked up my car today from the SC and everything looks good. They ended up replacing a pinch sensor and also upgraded the firmware to 2.40.21. Unfortunately I don't remember what the base 8.0 firmware release was that messed up the door to begin with. In any case the SC folks were awesome as expected and fixed the other minor niggles as well.
