Mine also appeared to be a wiring and firmware issue. Everything has been working consistently since my "repair."

Yep, have this problem now too, driver's side FWD. I do feel like it's been worse since the last update. Sadly, we had been yelling at our 5 yo for awhile because we thought he was reaching for or grabbing the door as it was coming down. Now we know it's the car's fault...

I'm going to report the same experience here, I have since asked my 6yr old to buckle up and sit in his seat before activating the B-pillar switch to close the fwd. it has not happened since.

I am a bit late adding to this thread, but I didn't have any problems for the first 90 days of my MX (VIN 40xx delivered 04/18), then I experienced the "FWD won't go down 80% of the time and 100% of the time when showing off" LOL
The Dallas SC took my car for a week and said it is a sensor issue. They are currently waiting for "Revision E" sensors and trim. It is two weeks out for those.

I have experience the same in my ownership of 5 weeks. FWD would stop without any apparent reason and error pops up about an obstacle found. With second try, it would close. Happens 50% of the time. Taking to SC on 26th. Hopefully, they will fix it.

SC fixed ours, was happening every once and awhile. Doesn't happen at all now. I believe our was related to the wire issue.

Mine is currently at the SC primarily for this issue. They claim it's been fixed now. I'll find out as soon as I get it back

Just got software update 2.32.100. Seems like it fixed FWD object detection issues.

It happens at least 60% of the time. I have tested after the update, ten for ten perfect! Lets hope it stay that way.

Tesla still has my Model X so I don't know if my FWDs have been fixed

To close the loop here... The issue was corrected with the last software update.

I've be away from TMC for quite a while, but my FWD have definitely been 100% fixed since going into service last month. The SC had my car for nearly 2 weeks.
