Looks interesting.

So what’s the purpose of a roller test?
What is the outcome you found from it ?

I’ve never heard of these roller tests.

It's just to show how the system distributes power. Some AWD systems have difficulty getting moving when one or more tire can spin free. Roller tests give you an idea how quickly the system can adapt to a slippery road surface. A very basic system could technically be AWD, but if any one wheel lost traction, the car wouldn't move. Teslas system is a bit above average since it has two separate motors. But it has open differentials, so when one wheel spins free, it needs to apply the brake on that wheel to give the opposite side some power. Thats why it takes a bit to get going in some of these tests. Some vehicles are faster than others at this, but these tests give you an idea of how well the system works.

Very well said!

@M109Rider Not all AWD systems are created equal; check out the other roller test videos and you'll see... :)
