Vendor G-LOC Track and Autocross Brake Pads for Model 3

G-LOC Brakes was founded by racers for racers. When legendary driver Randy Pobst (of UPP Dark Helmet fame) ran this year's One Lap of America in a BMW X3 M Competition, he found himself with an emergency need for brake pads. While not exactly your typical performance car, G-LOC built and shipped new brake pads to Randy within 24 hours. The G-LOC team are true racers with a focus on customer service.

From amateur to professional racers, G-LOC brake pads have provided stopping power to many championship winning builds and drivers. G-LOC uses a Carbon, Ceramic, Kevlar, and proprietary metallic compound. This makes for rotor friendly compounds that still retain unmatched modulation and release characteristics. Furthermore, you are less likely to boil brake fluid because of the thermal barrier created with G-LOC compounds. The same cannot be said of competitors who load up their compounds with carbon and iron. It bears repeating that G-LOC's brake pads feature amazing modulation and why I personally have run G-LOCs on many cars, including the shop Tesla Model 3 Performance. The right brake pads will help you carry more speed through a corner.

OEM Model 3 Caliper Applications:

Performance Brake Calipers
Non-Performance / "Stealth Performance" Brake Calipers
Emotive Engineering specs all track pads from G-LOC with their Race Ready pre-bedding process. No chunky brake pads here. Track and Autocross compounds are in stock and ready to ship. 2 - 3 week lead time for GS-1 Street compounds and BBK Pads: including StopTech STR-60 Calipers and the DIY GM Brembo Calipers.

Please note: the G-LOC Track and Autocross compounds are aggressive brake pads. Regenerative braking allows these pads to stay installed between track days without the extreme squeal you may have experienced in the past on an ICE car. With that said, these pads may not always be completely silent. They may exhibit a low level hum which is barely noticeable or start to exhibit a few more squeaks if they have not been used in a while. A quick re-bed of the pad in to the rotor will quiet them right back down!

More about the primary compounds for use on the Tesla Model 3 (and Y!):

R12 - Track Front
Temperature range of 173°F to 1860°F (78°C to 1015°C). Excellent initial bite, high and consistent torque, and outstanding fade resistance. For use on the front axle of high-powered heavy cars where the front brakes are truly put to the test.

R10 - Track Rear
Temperature range of 118°F to 1475+°F (47°C – 801+°C). Excellent initial bite, smooth release, and excellent modulation. A great front pad for use on light cars like Miatas or on the rear axle of an R12-equipped car such as the Model 3 for braking balance.

R6 - Autocross Front and Rear
Consistent performance from dead cold (0°F) up to 1000°F + (0°C to 537°C+). The R6 has been specifically engineered for Autocross applications as an ultra-high cold torque compound. Please note the R6 is NOT meant for track use.

GS-1 - Street Front and Rear
Ambient temperatures up to 800°F (426°C). The GS-1 is G-LOCs all purpose street use only pad compound. It produces very little dust and very little noise, while maintaining excellent initial bite and torque for street use. GS-1 has been unmatched in the industry for rotor friendliness and longevity. The GS-1 compound is compatible with G-LOCs track and autocross pads, so no need to re-bed the brakes when switching between street and track.

Emotive Engineering is proud to be an authorized G-LOC Brakes dealer. If you are looking for another G-LOC compound, pads for a Big Brake Kit application, or even pads for another vehicle email or message us here on TMC.
