Gas stations are dangerous!

Man, the people INSIDE the cars have HORRIBLE reflexes

A deputy sheriff assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station observed a 2005 Nissan 300ZX stopped in the middle of an intersection Friday at Railroad Avenue and 8th street, Newhall.

The driver, a 30-year-old white male, sped away at a high rate of speed after the sheriff’s deputy attempted to make contact. The vehicle, which was traveling southbound on Newhall Avenue, entered the driveway of a Chevron Gas Station located at 20500 Newhall Avenue in Newhall near Sierra Highway.
The suspect’s car collided into four gas pumps, dislodging them from their bases. The collision was responsible for damaging a support pillar causing the metal overhang to fall to the ground.

Don't know if this is urban legend or not, but weren't LA cops supposed to stop with high speed chases and such because of all the damage that ends up being done? This won't help that image.

Not a gas station but another massive fire after truck diesel tanks ruptured: Smoky highway caused fiery British crash, police say - CNN.com

Seven dead, 51 injured. Reports of people unable to be freed by other motorists before their vehicles were engulfed.

By the way, the "TNT" truck was not carrying explosives but is a well known courier firm.

This one was 200 metres from my old school. Scary stuff.

It's time for government to step in to curb this kind of behavior; transporting dangerous chemicals around like that is simply irresponsible. It's a wonder no one was hurt but look at the damage to the infrastructure and the cost to thousands of CA residents and business whos day was disrupted.
