Gen 3 wall charger - must I use the built-in holster when not in use?

I'm trying to figure out the best location for the Gen 3 Wall Charger.

I could theoretically wedge the charger between the electrical panel and the wall near the garage door but I won't be able to use the built-in holster on the right side of the unit.

Is it ok if I install a water hose hanger below the electrical panel and wind the power cord, and let the charging head just hang in the air?

Yes, you can just hang the power cord from any other convenient holder. I lay my charging cord in the garage on a little camping still positioned right by where the charging port is located when I park in the garage.
