Sorry Doug, but I agree with kptesl. PowerWall should be its own forum. Energy/Environment/Policy is more about how to save our planet, not about a Tesla product. Incidentally, Doug, thanks for generally being a great administrator of this forum.
I'd vote for setting it up as a subforum of Energy, Environment and Policy - much like SpaceX is a subforum of the general transportation forum. Tesla Energy is going to be attracting a lot of discussion as the Powerwall and Powerpack deliveries ramp up.
Powerwall is a product of Tesla motors like the Model S, X and Roadster, so it should have its own section.
That whole section Energy Environment and Policy has a particular established tone to it. It would be great if Tesla Energy gets its own independent section or subforum.
I second that! I just noticed that there's half a dozen threads about Tesla Energy, Tesla Powerwall, Tesla Powerpack, Stationary Storage business in general, etc., spread throughout the forum and I think many of us would appreciate a dedicated forum section for Tesla Energy within the "Tesla Motors forum", not in the "General Forum", since it's core to Tesla Motor's business/products, and not a general topic.
agreed - had been off the boards for a few days, came back and actually expected a Powerwall sub to already exist. would make sense to have one.
+1 to having a "Tesla Energy" section. I installed my solar system spec'd to add something like PowerWall with easy installation and without extra wiring. I'm definitely in and it'd be great to have all the threads coralled somewhere.
Agree with having a separate subform for Tesla Energy. Powerwall is a new Tesla product, not just another *thing* on the market to discuss. We have separate areas for other Tesla products, why not this one?
IMO it should be a sub-forum on the Tesla Motors section of the forum, called "Tesla Energy" just like there's a "Model S" and "Model X" subforum. The Tesla Energy products are made by Tesla Motors Inc. Perhaps Tesla will change its name to just "Tesla" but for now it's Tesla Motors. In that subforum we could have subforum for the Powerwall, one for technical discussion, one for investor discussion etc.
Or we can just wait until the following threads are created: Pics of my Model S next to the Powerwall Installation tips for the Powerwall Pics of my Powerwall Install My remodeled garage with Powerwall Did anyone have [this problem] with their Powerwall My first month's savings with Powerwall Do I need a Powerwall? Cats on my Powerwall Going off the Grid with Powerwall Why I'm staying on the grid even though I have 9 Powerwalls Decorating with Powerwall Bedazzling a Powerwall What to do with all those extra power poles, now that Powerwall has killed the grid Ideal Powerwall installation What solar system do you have operating with your Powerwall? etc. Just please make a separate area now for Tesla Energy ... please?
