General Range Advice

Probably less. It is 90 to 100 where it really slows. However, your post confuses me. You said something about a stretch with miserable traffic. I presume that means slow traffic. If that's the case, you will use far less battery on that stretch. EV is opposite of ICE. Lower speeds get you better range.

I get what you're saying. It's not about how the Tesla will handle the rough traffic, but, trying to minimize how much of it I run into.

It's the DC/Baltimore area. Roughly 80 miles that can be really rough re traffic. So, for example, if I'm driving North, entering that zone around 3:00 (i.e., about 25 miles South of DC), the difference between being able to skip a SuperCharger, even for 40 minutes (10 minutes on/off, parking, 30 minutes of charging), might be the difference between getting through that 80 mile stretch with nil traffic, and getting stuck in 45+ minutes of extra traffic. I realize charging to 90% rather than 80% would add time at the prior SC stop... just curious as to whether that bump from 80% to 90% is closer to 10 or 20 minutes, so the net time savings (time getting out ahead of traffic) is more like 30 minutes or 20 minutes. I've done this trip many many times... it seems mistiming entering that stretch by as little as 20 minutes or so can add quite a lot of time to an already long day of driving.

tl;dr I probably should of skipped even alluding to all these details, and just asked how long it takes to go from 80% to 90%. Was trying to avoid, "but why would you ever do that" posts, lols.

Is it recommended to not charge a Tesla to more than 80-90% on a regular basis?
If true, then what would be the practical "best-case" range on a regular basis?
Thanks,
