Has anyone with some PhotoShop skills tried coloring this GenIII (?) clay model: http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4058&d=1328643564
Here's my attempt. I tried to make it look more glossy but the jpg picture had too many artifacts to look good, so I just left it with the "matte" finish.
My first thought was that this clay model looks like a RWD Mazda3 with some styling cues from the Mazda6. It all made sense when I realized that Franz von Holzhausen is a Mazda veteran.
Love the tinted windows, oh make that one way glass, oh sorry about that this is a clay model isn't it:smile:
@TEG - Where are those weird looking door handles from? @PV4EV - Where'd the battery chrome below the doors go?
Are you hoping they go with something more traditional (like the Mazda 3) for Gen 3 handles? Or just a convenience for your mockup?
Convenience / expedience in the photoshop. Are people generally happy with the auto-extending door handles on the Model S?
Ok, I've slightly stretched the door shut line to the right, and squished the height a little too. But this is all being done with a simple bit-map editor (not photoshop funnily enough!) ... so its only supposed to be a crude mock up to look at through squinty eyes !!! I suspect that the Gen3 will actually be a proper 4/5 seater with 4 doors. Personally I quite like the idea of a 2 door Coupe shape, and only occasionally need the use of rear seats so 4 doors is not high on my priority list. - - - Updated - - - Its a crude mock-up done with a bit-map editor ! Wasn't expecting anyone to look at the detail too much ... In an ideal world with loads of time on my hands, I'd model the entire thing into a very high-res 3D model, and render it in all sorts of ways.
Could you also shrink the door and fit another another door? Think it makes more sense if G3 is a 4-door (5-door, whatever it's called)
