It's pretty sad that I'm fairly shocked that a real Republican readily and unequivocally states that global warming exists. It might be nice if he let the current party leadership in Washington in on his little secret!
Both sides are quite a bit different today. Back when things we're civil, compromise happened, politicians were people, and the extremes weren't so extreme. I fear it will rip apart this great country. But I love that an 80+ year old man is so attuned and relevant even today.
I guess, although he's basically stayed with the party on almost all issues except this one, as far as I can tell. He just happened to do a big interview in Saturday's Wall Street Jounral, and is as "conservative" on most issues as the rest of today's GOP. I wish they'd listen to him on climate change and the need to support electric vehicles, alternative energy etc. The Weekend Interview with George Shultz Of course, knowing the WSJ's editorial page, they probably purposely avoided this issue during his interview!
