Getting Tesla to pay for a window retint.

So my car is being serviced and they are replacing the top, rear glass and the headliner. I suppose it’s a leak. So I was wondering if anyone has had experience with getting Tesla to pay for re-tinting my rear glass. I called my tint place and they told me I would just have to pay for materials and it’s $250. I was thinking, since it’s Tesla’s faulty glass and or sealing of the glass, they should pay. Am I’m wrong?

I'm pretty certain Tesla is not responsible for any aftermarket parts on your vehicle.

Teslas warranty obligation is to repair any defect back to working factory condition. It came from the factory without aftermarket tint. So yeah you can always ask but expect to be told no.

Yeah, I feel your pain losing the tint... but I also can't see how they can realistically take responsibility for the tint. Suppose you had it gold leafed for $10k, what then?
