Tesla Motors Club

There have been a request in my apartment building for adding few plugs to recharge some electrical bicycle,
and my landlord would like to get some high level recommendations for adding some outlets in a bicycle storage room.

This storage is located at floor level, not an underground basement, there is a lockable door and some air vents.

The building is quite old (build around 1970 may be) and I believe that there now new codes requiring
using GFCI outlets in a garage, even if the outlets are not located outside or in an underground basement.

The first question I have is to determine in this situation if you can:

- Install some GFCI outlets with regular circuit breakers, or
- Install some regular outlets with GFCI circuit breakers, or
- If you have to use both GFCI outlets and GFCI circuit breakers?

The second question I have is that there are various types of electrical shock protection,
which start to be quite confusing, so I wonder what would be necessary and recommend among the following:

- GFCI
- AFCI
- CAFCI
- Dual Function (GFCI+AFCI)
- ...

The last question would be concerning the requirement to have any proper smoke detection, extinguishers…,
because of the electrical bicycles?
