Hi. New to the forum and sadly not a Model S owner. But I have a close friend who is eagerly waiting for delivery and wanted to see if anyone had any cool gift recommendations. Didn't see much besides apparel on the Tesla site. Happy Holidays!
Waiting for a Model S to be delvered is a stressful thing. Get him/her a massge and a bottle of single malt. I'm partial to the Lagavulin 16.
I'd never turn away a nice bottle of Lagavulin, but if you're looking for Tesla specific items, Tesla's Shop sells some nice items. I have the black jacket and really like it. Welcome Tesla Motors
Avoid the travel mug they sell. Wife bought it for me in April, and the weld on the bottom fell apart 4 months later, and in the trash it went.
I agree, but for a different reason..the logo washed off of mine. Now it's just a plain white travel mug.
Like any new car, the Model S can benefit by any number of new accessories: A good tire air pressure gauge, because keeping tires properly inflated is important for safety and mileage. Good examples here: Long Acre Racing High-quality gloves that still allow you to operate the touch screen. Expensive, but worth it: http://www.mujjo.com/leather-touchscreen-gloves Great microfiber cloth to clean that enormous touchscreen: Cloth Addiction A beautiful leather box that fits snugly between the front seats to hold various things.
Re. #1, one of the items on the standard specs page is "Tire pressure monitoring system" . . . so is that needed? The tire repair kit looks nice, though. I'm not 100% clear, but it looks like it checks air pressure.
Yes. TPMS tells you if your tires are going flat. A good tire pressure gauge lets you keep your tires at the recommended inflation, uniformly across the tires.
Ah, thanks. I figured it would tell the pressure; my other half's Murano does, IIRC. (I should double-check; maybe I hallucinated that.) Bummer.
Depending on how much you have to spend...I really enjoyed the jacket my husband bought me or the baseball cap. I wear them both proudly ; )
Every Model S owner needs a tire kit, and this one is complete.... http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/tire+repair+kit+with+12-volt+air+compressor.do?sortby=ourPicks# May seem odd at first, but one day he or she will be grateful.
I ordered two of these (very expensive but should last a long time and better than keeping a flare in the trunk) PowerFlare Safety Light - Red LED
My BMW motorcycle pretty accurately transmits pressure information to my display. I have come to trust it and do not manually check pressures before a ride anymore, so it is possible.
