Girlfriend paid for the deposit then she left me, now what happens?

Long story short, she paid for the deposit as a present for me but everything is under my name including reservation holder, contact email, primary contact etc. I called Tesla and they said that although everything is under my name, she's still the financial obligated person and she can cancel the reservation anytime (she won't) so I was more worried about when I actually purchased the car if it'll affect anything and if I qualify for the tax credit will it still be under my name? Does anyone have any experience in this matter? Thanks!

no experience, and for a real answer I suggest talking to a tax accountant, but personally, I suspect that you would not have any problems if everything is under your name. if you look at the terms and conditions document (in the My Tesla documents section), if it has your name there, I cant see any reason it would be a problem at all. if it's her name, you might need to get that changed, but I would speak with your delivery specialist specifically about stuff like that.

The federal tax credit is offered to taxpayers who:
  1. File a personal tax return for the year they bought an EV
  2. Have a tax liability to offset
  3. Are the titled owner of an eligible EV for the tax year in question.
As the reservation holder, you will be the titled owner of the car when it is paid for and delivered.

Want an insurance policy ? Give the lady her money back.
Don't have the money ? Tell her to cancel the reservation and collect her money since the chance you are going to afford the car is ... remote.
Thinking about cancelling and collecting the reservation deposit ? Don't. Judge Judy will feed you your te*ticles, and you will be an object of ridicule for a long, long time.

I will be waiting for my wife to advise me of the end results. (She loves to watch Judge Judy)!

If you are the reservation holder, then the car is in your name.

Sounds like you want to clear your conscience.
Pay/offer her the deposit back if you are worried about anything. At least everything would be free and clear at that point.

If everything is under your name then I don't see how she could cancel it short of logging in to your myTesla account and clicking the cancel button. How does Tesla even know that she paid for it, unless that keep that info in their financial records.

I thought that way too until I realized she could always call in and have them look up the transaction via her card number...
