What am I doing posting about a 'run of the mill' economy car?
Well, I think GM did a nice job on the styling of their new Cruze entry level car. I like it more than the Volt (which is loosely based on the Cruze), more than the Leaf, Prius, etc. I think they look better in person than in pictures. Some have started showing up in my parking lot at work, and I took notice that it (to me at least) seems somewhat attractive. Haven't felt that way about too many GM products.

If GM had put a Volt motor and a big pack of A123 batteries in one, I would definitely have picked it instead of the Leaf.

Oh well, just rambling...

Holden 2013 Cruze hybrid - GM working on Cruze hybrid | GoAuto

GENERAL Motors is working on a plug-in hybrid version of the Cruze, one of Australia’s top-selling cars, to rival Toyota’s Prius plug-in.

However, unlike the plug-in Volt, which will hit Holden showrooms here within a year, the electrified version of the Cruze will be a plug-in hybrid rather than an electric car with a range-extender.

It seems unlikely that GM would make a PHEV Cruze, a la Plug-in-Prius. A BAS+ "mild hybrid" would more their MO.

I found some other articles with basically the same verbiage (but not seemingly translated with a computer program) that all date Sep 2010. I wouldn't hold out for an electric Cruze.

Does in bother anyone else that GM decided to spell it "Cruze"?
