Going from 19" to 20" Aftermarket wheels - Range impact

Hi all. We just took delivery of our MY a week ago. Love it so much!

We had ordered with the Gemini wheels and although we had changed our mind a month after placing the order and wanted the Induction wheels, we weren't thrilled about paying the Induction wheel upgrade cost + the bump up in MSRP at the time (which would have been around $9k).

So...we are looking for options for aftermarket induction/ubertine style wheels (either in 19" or 20"). Just wondering if there is a substantial drop in range with using aftermarket rims and if upgrading to 20" wheels?

Range loss is going to depend on a ton of factors but you can safely assume no more than 10% as a worst-case staying under 20". If you go with an induction/uberturbine style that has similar design (aerodynamics) as the OEM ones then you can assume even less impact on range. TSportline has an uberturbine style in both 19" and 20" - TSV 19" Tesla Model Y Wheel (Set of 4)

They are uberturbine style, and look quite similar to the TSportline but easier to get in Canada. Still need to decide 19 vs 20"

I should be getting my Model Y next month and want to add a set of winter tires & rims. I've got the tires figured out, but am looking to buy some 19" rims. Will you be selling your when you get your 20"? If so, please let me know. Thanks.

As for the wheels, we decided to keep the OEM 19” for the winter tires.

MYP with 21 Ubers with no range anxiety/issues at all. =)
Extra 30 miles with 19" equals the same number of charging stops with maybe 5 minutes of time saving.

Thanks. I've decided to try leaving the all-weather tires it come with for the winter, at least this year. Hopefully I won't need to get an entire set of winter rims and tires.
