Got My 2021 VIN!

Ordered 9/28 (Blue Black , FSD, 19 in)

9/30 - 2020 VIN assigned. Too early as I wanted it around Oct 22 so rejected VIN.
10/5 - 2020 VIN assigned. Rejected too early and its a 2020 VIN.
10/15 - 2020 VIN assigned. Rejected as its a 2020 VIN.
10/20 - 2021 VIN assigned (666xx). Made full payment. Not sure if its in factory or in Burbank CA for pickup on 10/22. LOL !!

let us know how it looks, can’t believe you’ve had 4 in sooner time than I’ve had 1. And your delivery is before mine. LOL

picking up same place a day later.

Nah... I lived in Chicago/ Indiana early 90s and cannot handle the winters and the boring ambience (especially in IN)... ran away to CA in 1997 and love it here..

I ordered 9/28 (white/black, 19”, tow, no FSD) and had a VIN a few days later. It was a 2020 VIN so likely built at the end of last quarter. I didn’t have my finances ready yet, so released it and also wanted a 2021. I decided to change to blue on 10/18. I just got a 2021 VIN (641xx) today, 10/20. I’m in the SF South Bay. I’ve been lusting after a model 3 (and now the more versatile Y) for 4 years and I can’t believe I’ll have the Y in the coming days/weeks! This has happened relatively quickly as I feel I haven’t had adequate time to obsess over it!

I ordered 9/29 almost the same configuration as yours (white/black, 19”, no tow, no FSD) and also in SF South bay. But I have no update from Tesla, no VIN nothing. Called Tesla, they told that my estimate delivery day maybe sometime in Nov or even in Dec!!! Because this model this "very popular" !!!! I have no idea how Telsa arrange for delivery, Doesn't looks like first come first serve to me.

I completed my paperwork by 10/13 including removing and adding hitch and added my current insurance information.
I am in MN. I was preparing for a wait until late November or December.
I got my VIN today.
It is 5YJYGDEE5MF066XXX
Based on what I have read it is 2021. Can someone confirm?
I was not expecting this to happen so quickly.
It seems to me that I can still upgrade AP to FSD even if I have a VIN now is this correct.

Ordered October14th and got the VIN just now. I’m so excited! Confirmed it was a 2021. I’ll update the sheet tomorrow.

The web site is asking me for the cash payment. When is that due? If I pay that now does it speed up delivery?

Hello Y’all! New to forum and site:

Ordered 10/16/20-completed all papers except payment, awaiting final payment options.
VIN-10/19/20 evening
MY/White/BlkInt/Induct20/LR/no hitch or added accessories

emailed SA today to change my VIN cause it has a superstition number I don’t like “666” on it!!! Now I’ve ask for new VIN assignments hopefully lucky to get another in the next few days without any of the number in sequence! Call me weird or superstitious, I just couldn’t have that. IN number on me!!! Stay safe y’all!!!

Since I got the VIN today I now see an option to add bank information and pay. When do we pay Tesla? Is it before we even see the car or is it on the day of the delivery of the car?

Ordered on 10/5 - White LR, black interior, induction, autopilot, no trailer hitch. Received 2021 VIN last night (10/19): 654XX.

I live in TX, and they said car has to be fully funded and insured before it will ship. Got all of that squared away today (already had approval with Alliant on financing and they were really quick to get everything finalized after I provided VIN). When I spoke with my delivery specialist in Vegas, he said he showed the car ending up at the delivery center in Plano by 11/4. Hoping for quicker delivery since financing and insurance were provided so quickly, but we’ll see.

Well I got tired of seeing everyone else get their VINs after ordering way after me and was tired of getting jerked around by Tesla so I cancelled my Model Y order.

Going tomorrow to look at an Audi E-tron and hopefully drive away with. No more waiting around while Tesla jerks their customers around.

How often is everyone watching their Tesla Account for the VIN to show up? I'm doing it every hour and it's driving my crazy, after the first one showed up and I rejected it.
