Can you stack those for more lift?Mountain Pass Performance 1.75" Lift Kit Something tells me they'll sell more of these for Model Y's than 3's.
I'd say you're looking at the wrong car. If it was even possible, that would mess up the suspension geometry (more). Can you stack those for more lift?
@Trev Page's assessment was that ground clearance was 2-3" higher than the Model 3. Even at 2" it would be a respectable 7.5". That's fine by me. My Tiguan is only 7.9.
As stated above, the tires are 0.8" larger in radius than Model 3. It'll be at least that much higher, but possibly only that much higher. It looked like the same clearance as the M3 making it a poor substitute for a minivan instead of true CUV.
The Model Y Unveil tires were indeed 1.6" larger in diameter than Model 3 tires--0.8" larger in radius making Y at least 0.8" higher.Tire size more like 0.8 larger in diameter than Model 3. Gives .4" increase in clearance.
I suspect air suspension is not in the current plan for initial Y production or else they would have mentioned the capacity somewhere. I think if they change their mind, they could easily offer it as an additional option (a la, 3rd row seats) and let those that pre-ordered update to it if desired. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept the option limited to LR cars or AWD cars.Only problem is that at this point I don't know how likely it would be to be offered at the start of production,
