1 problem with this key is that it can open other cars not just yours.

Anyhow, it's not advisable to use it when other Model S are near by.

true but some time many will forget and use this device when parked near a socket and if other MS is around it will open it.
I think the best way not to open other cars is, other MS better not to park near charging sockets.
BTW have you tried what is the range of the device.

I was thinking if they can make a device to open this can they hack it and make 1 to open the doors too.

How considerate!

I will place my remotes inside the trunk (as pr advise from Vmax). This way I can always open the charge port, while my trunk is open, even if I kept the fob inside the car. So it's not a total waste to me (nor Vmax), but I am sure most people would be OK with the fob. If I hadn't ordered it and gotten it already, I would have been happy with just the fob.

I have tested on mine fob and it works for me.

VMAX: Don't worry, I will still pick up mine opener as I promised that I will get one.

Latest update on the P85D allows you to pop the charge port by holding the trunk button on the fob.
