I just found out probably why Tesla doesn't provide pressure display from the TPMS (this is FOBO's comment, and the reason why they believe that there will always be a need for their product)-
Most in-tire sensors work on 433mhz, with high power consumption, and you need to replace them once the batteries are flat, and it's a costly affair.
To give readings mean owners expect to see and judge accuracy, time between readings, etc. Also battery life will be compromised with readings as users expect quick update as well.

Many cars do display the tire pressure on demand whenever you want.

Yes, you are right, some do display. But they are using up the battery in the TPMS, which will be a pain to replace - the fobo batteries are no big deal at all to replace. Also, the fobo app has an easy way to rotate the tires and reassign the locations of the monitor. plus a number of levels of alarm - user settable. and frequent status update (because battery is not an issue). So it does do more than even the best car system...and clearly more than Tesla does at present...
I like it also because I can check my wife's tires without even getting into her car...so there are a number of advantages over conventional TPMS sensing, and you just have to decide if those are worth it to you.

Just a heads-up.. I just got this email from FedEx:

I am contacting you in reference to an international shipment coming in from SALUTICA ALLIED SOLUTIONS SDN BHD in Malaysia. We are needing a more detailed description of the items in the shipment. Are there motor vehicle tires with the rims?
I have attached the commercial invoice for your reference. Please contact me as soon as possible so that we can avoid any delays.

I wrote back that they are not tires, they are tire pressure gauges. I'll post back if I get another reply.

Called FedEx and they want the FCC certification document. I forwarded the docs to them that FOBO had sent me, and told FedEx that there are about 30 units that have been shipped to various people. I was told that since the units are being delivered to different people, each person will likely be contacted for the info I sent them (that is, they will not match my docs to the units for other people). So everyone that ordered the unit should expect to be contacted by FedEx. I'm expecting my units to be delivered Friday, unless there is a problem with customs.
