mine in my S hold up fine in socal desert ~115-120 in summer... i use a blendmount though not the tape... im gonna try this one on X as the blendmounts are somewhat pricey

I'd like to hear how you like the MOOVIKA...seen something similar being reviewed but it looked like a rough 3D print that didn't match the rest of the mirror housing. If that one blends well I'd totally get one.

Interesting, my 900s have shutdown on a few occasions due to heat. And we haven’t even hit triple digits yet.... always a bit hot to the touch as well, now you have me wondering if this is normal or not. @EVTuning how hot should these things get? Mine as always quite warm to the touch and have shutdown ~4x in the 90 degree heat and humidity. Even enabled cabin overheat protection to try to help it out...
@BigD0g I’m using the 750 in S ...I’m waiting for 900 to try out in X ...it’s getting hot here now so will let u know next month
It’s not even hot here yet.... only 85 and my cams already shutdown, apparently we can’t upload images anymore

Yeah, I get that, but black absorbs heat like a sponge.
Maybe 3M Crystalline Film to cut the IR would help. That was the first thing I thought of when I read your post. Some here swear by it. The windshield and windows are tough in summer.
Yah, need to figure out something, because it would be a PITA to go all summer with no dash cams

This is the first I've heard of this. I would reach out to Blackvue directly just so I'm not playing monkey in the middle with the back and forth communication. If they decide its a warranty issue then I'll handle the replacement. Their customer service is typically good and responsive.

I've had the 650 and the 750 cameras in my car in australia for a few years. Never had a issue with mine and heat with over 45c days (113f in US)
We sometimes get 6-7 days of over 45c in a row. It still records like a champ.
Winter here at the moment so i can't tell you about the 900 yet.

Everyone should be able to be busy installing this weekend! Still about 8 camera's away from another order. Who else is interested? are there any add on products people would like to see bundled together as an extra incentive? Maybe some interior lighting? Floor Mats? Sunshades?
