GTA Ontario - Getting a used 2019 LR and need winter wheels + tires

Hi fellow Ontarians/Canadians!

I'm super pumped to finally be getting into a 2019 Model 3 this week I'm getting used from a friend who is upgrading to the refresh 2024 M3. They've got 1 set of wheels and summer tires on right now - 18 inch OEMs. I'm looking into winter tires/wheels now since I'll need to have a set to keep my insurance discounts.

I've been seeing tons of different suggestions, but so far have picked out the "FastWheels EV01+" as a potential winner, but can only see these on 2021 M3 Performance online - would these fit my 2019? Is there anything specific to look for in terms of winter tires? I'm very much a chill driver and prefer longevity and efficiency over sportiness. Coming off a 2014 Jetta with no balls at all is going to be incredible even in chill mode.

Would love to hear your suggestions on wheels and winters. I'm hopefully looking to spend less than 2k all in, but can flex if it's for a good reason.

Thanks for any help you can give!

I have pre-2021 (which includes 2019) Tesla 18" Aero wheels and covers for my winter tires that I use on my 2021 M3 LR. The car came with the newer style 18" Aero wheels and covers. Bolt pattern, offset and everything else are identical between the two. Even the Aero covers are interchangeable.

You shouldn't have any problem with the EV01+ wheels.

I have the EV01’s on my 2022 Model 3 Performance. But they will fit the non Performance model as well. The P models need the +35 offset version of EV01. I believe the non-P uses +40 but either size will work on the non-P.

Hope that helps.

As for tire recommendations, I bought a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires from Kal Tire back in 2020 when I took delivery of my Model 3. They have been excellent in the snow and slush. My only complaint with them is that they generate more road noise than the summer tires but I think that's likely going to be true for any winter tire.

When it comes time to replace my winter tires, I'll definitely consider another set of the Hakkas.

You're the seventh person to recommend Kal Tire! I think. I'll spin by them and give them a shot for the full package!
