Hansshow Audio Upgrade? (SR+)

I have SR+ from August 2019. Am I supposed to have rear speakers? I want to buy DIY kit now while they have 10% discount.

I have same month and year and the speakers are there. If you take a flashlight and shine through back window down into the rear shelf you will see them.

Just FYI, someone on YouTube posted a video detailing the installation of the Professional package, with some sample music with the kit installed. This gives an idea of what to expect from either Harness only or DSP+Sub upgrades.

Took 40 days to receive!!??? Hope the harness only comes faster then that. Website says orders take 5-15 days.

I made this to sell to someone else. I have a similar setup in my own car except a different subwoofer. The installation is easy. I made the entire harness plug and play with pass through connectors so no tapping any wires. Very easy to remove as well.

The power wires are built into the harness. It connects to the penthouse 12v under the rear seat.

Does anybody know if the DIY will work for SR model? It has 1 or 2 additional speakers turned off as compared to SR+, so wanted to check.

I do have the rear speakers, so that’s good. March 2019 buy.

The SR and SR+ have the same sound system. The only difference is SR+ has a software effect called immersive sound. No difference in speakers.

That is terrible. The bass is drawn only from one speaker? How useless is that for stereo signals...

Bass is omnidirectional and usually mono. Most other car stereo systems and home theater systems only have one subwoofer. It’s possible to have more than that, but usually for volume, not stereo.

The bass comes from 2x 8” woofers located in both front doors.

They are talking about the comment made in the video that the Hannshow kit subwoofer is using the signal on the right channel. Which isn't really an issue as @Darwood77 explained.

I don’t believe you are correct. The SR/SR+ main computer outputs a center channel. The center tweeter is hooked up to the center channel speaker.

Do you own a SR? Or will you take advice from an actual SR owner who had the SR+ configuration before they nerfed it? My EQ settings had to change after my car showed as a SR -- immersive off before too. I had to bump up the trebles to get it to sound similar to before.

You are correct. The SR has the center tweeter disabled as it only works with immersive sound.

I’d be interested to see real documentation from Tesla about this. Not a website that states, “SR and SR+ believed to be accurate – info from other owners” I believe it to be inaccurate.
