Are the new chargers at Harris Ranch up and running?
I still can't figure out why the engineers put the charge port in the rear left corner of the car ... the worst choice possible IMHO. If they had put it in the rear right corner one could easily use a charger positioned at a curb, or if they had put it in the front center of the car like the Nissan LEAF they could have put one supercharger at the center of four side-by-side/nose-to-nose parking spaces. Then one could have potentially reached four cars with the single cable of one supercharger. Much less probability of being ICEd out in that case.
I think the answer to that is that they expect the Model S not to be charged frequently when away from home because of the big battery and when you charge at home, every day, the port is on the drivers side for convenience.

@laurent off topic but - wow that blue is beautiful
I agree - how did you get such a pretty bright blue color? All the blue ones I've seen (mine included) are a very dark blue.
And this was, what?, located at Harris Ranch? Trying to figure out the tie-in.
Unfortunately, that's what happens when you offer free charging. Really annoying when there's a very limited number of chargers, less annoying with sufficient infrastructure available. Part of it is also driver education. On each visit here (Friday and today), there were people who wanted to charge up with extra just because.
Perhaps the person who was range charging was heading north toward Folsom supercharger, instead of the Tejon Ranch
Harris Ranch to Sacramento is 191 miles, some might like a bit of a cushion so they charge to the max
My bad, in which case he does not need a range charge unless he wants to bypass the Tejon stopNo he was going to Los Angeles. I tried to convince him that 220 miles was enough but he wanted to do the max range.
