Yep, I've taken off both the refresh 2016 S and 2022 LR/Plaid Model S bumpers and they are different enough that I think it would be close to impossible to move 2022 bumper to a refersh without a lot of pain and custom brackets. The bottom connection points are quite different as are most of the side connections. Wiring is also done differently, and I'm about 98% sure the connectors are different. From memory, some modules are now part of the bumper where before they were mounted on the frame behind the bumper. I suspect the hood is fine, but @pabla is right that you'd need new fenders, which require the new castings that are behind them. You'd be slicing apart a large part of the front end and I expect many other problems will prop up. I guess with enough time, money, and resources it could be done, but likely cheaper to just buy a new Model S.
That is crazy. I diddnt think the fenders and bumper were actually wider. I have to replace my 2017+ front bumper anyhow and wanted to upgrade, but thats nuts.
