Has anyone found the switch 12v power source ?

Has anyone found a 12v ignition power source for either valentineone or blackvue ? I have only seen video hook directly to the 12v battery itself . Just wondering if anyone who has any information that can share. It will be greatly appreciated.

I think the point is you can tap into that power lead (hardwire)

This thread shows a switched power line in the console (on the passenger side) that is easy access.

I have heard that Cabin Overheat Protection is preventing sleep in 2019.5.15. Try turning it off and see what happens.

Cabin overheat, sentry, etc. all off.
The car has simply changed behavior with 5.15.

I had a Blackview camera set up installed in my MX.....the installer hooked into a hot wire on the drivers side, down in the foot well wall. He pulled a small panel that covered a variety of wires and connected to an "Always Hot" wire that keeps my camera powered 24/7. I believe there may be a wiring block behind that panel that allowed easy connection.

Not if you're on 5.15, at least in my experience.

On 15.5 and the power to my Blackvue plugged into the console power power port goes off after a few minutes every time i leave the car.

With the latest update this seems to be the best method I could find to get switched 12v on the model 3. This method should be update proof in the future as well due to being tapped off of 2 lines used for hardware items
