Has anyone installed the older HID headlights on a newer (refreshed) Model S?

Has anyone installed the older HID headlights on a newer (refreshed) Model S? I have been reading and searching for the past few days about this. I know that the wire harnesses are different. Has anyone figured out if it is possible to go backward, for the sake of better lighting output, and installed HID's in lieu of the LED's? I am willing to give up the super cool DRL's for better night vision.

I would guess the Plaid has at least an updated reflector, if not a new LED module. Has it already been confirmed the Plaid lights are as bad as the facelift/raven models?

I thought the harness was the same? You can plug it in and it will turn on but I think there can be some errors due to difference in resistance value and what not.
