Has anyone tried 215/45R17 for rears?

The tire shop today only had this size available in Michelins. Would there be a problem if i went down to this size on my roadster vs the recommended 225/45/17?

215/45/17 is normaly much more expensive size because it's not so comon
and there is less types of with this size

I have this size on some other cars that should have 225/45/17 and had worked good no isue

If you have a 1.5, yes its an issue due to no tire learning.

Why not order the correct size via the Tire Rack and have them shipped to your garage to be installed? I'd rather go wider in the rears than smaller unless you're a hyper-miler.

Thx for the info, it was a nice pair I'm leaning towards, didn't want to wait for shipping
