    Yes.

Tesla development calls this the "Keep the doggies alive" mode (same principal applies - you want to leave your Sound/Heat/AC etc. on for a user-definable time period, or until the battery runs down to a specified level).

About 15 months ago ownership told me that they were very close to releasing it. So any day now...

Would personally love to see swivel front seats and the availability of a table so you can sit four for a meal like VW did/does with their camper van.

At night the tablet could display a campfire and the sound system could play crickets chirping or waves lapping on the beach.

Okay that last sentence is lame but swivel seats and table option please! :)

This is great! It will also work for keeping the audio going for drive-in movies. The US spec cars can switch off the DRLs.
Also, to make it even darker, put the screen in cleaning mode.
Cleaning mode will also make it harder for little fingers to take the parking brake off ;)

I'm excited about this - not for camping but for a feature I've been wanting for years... the ability to stop the car, leave the HVAC on for a specific time (say 30 min) and jump back in the car at the same temp as I left it.

Has anyone seen this feature active yet?

You mean the version number or how they did it? The number we have no clue, and if they did tell us, it might be the internal number you get from the SC when they upgrade the car, which isn't the number we usually see on the car's T icon or on ev-fw/TeslaFi.

There was a fleeting mention of 17.40.something, but that disappeared. We will see when we see. :D

It makes sense this new release that fixes Homelink has other HL features, perhaps. I have no clue why they are dropping in other 'convenience' things like camper at this time.... Anyone got a rationale?

    A couple options:
    • A developer got bored with what he was working on and went rouge and finished the new feature?
    • A developer wondering why his completed feature has never been released finally realized that he forgot to press the commit changes button in their source code control solution and pressed it. ;)
    • Elon was in his Model S looking at the stars for an extended period of time and got cold. He mutter WTH don't we have a camper mode feature. A short email later the feature appeared. :D

    More hypothesis:
    • Someone finally gave Elon a puppy.
    • Due to a scheduling screw-up they accidentally allowed a developer to take vacation. That developer's girlfriend decided to drag him to a campsite and he realized people can use cars for more than just driving around from place A to place B. So he coded up the feature while on his vacation. Subsequently, he no longer has a girlfriend. (Sadly, this isn't a parody).

Thanks to the above image posted by scottf200, there seems like one possible way to keep 12V on with minimal battery usage. Using this new mode, we might try running the fan alone, with A/C turned off. This might not prevent the heater from running if it's cold, though.

why the heck dont they allow you to set the min battery level?
A fixed 20% might not get to the next charger.

can just see somebody setting this without thinking it through, or leaving it on longer than planned by mistake, and finding themselves short of battery to get to the next charger, especially if camping away from urban areas.

a simple additional control to switch off when xxx remaining as miles or %charge is all that is required, with default at 20%.

The climate control sleep timer is awesome. I requested that a while back. It's a great feature for people who are in and out of their cars for short durations (walking kids into school).
