I got an email from an ISA saying congratulations I have a VIN ,but she didn't actually tell me the number. When do you get the VIN number? My bank needs the VIN number to finalize my financing.

Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. I just emailed her right back and asked for the VIN number and she emailed it to me the next day.

The new rule is that you get it 7 days before delivery. So I've heard.
However, if you need it for financing or insurance they will give it to you before then.

I don't think that's a hard and fast rule. My ISA emailed me to say that I had a VIN on June 12. She then sent my VIN number on June 13, and my delivery date was originally set for July 14. Since then, it's been moved up to July 10. I am not financing so don't need it for that. I do need it for insurance, but that can be arranged in a day, so I don't need it early for that.
Thanks all. Got the VIN today, nailed down financing, delivery scheduled 7/14. Could have picked up July 5th, but travel and work kept me from being available until 7/14. The wait is over!!

I should have said "unofficial rule" as of when they stopped showing VIN in accounts as soon as they are assigned. That was the wording some ISA's were telling people. I asked my ISA for mine so I can get insurance done.
From my current experience, it seems to be when I finish answering all the questions they want for delivery (and uploading the pictures). Once that happens, the next e-mail is thanking me for the info, confirming the delivery date, and the actual VIN.
I've got two reservations going right now. One is due to be delivered soon. The other I haven't finished uploading pictures yet (family members) in the "told I have a VIN" but haven't actually gotten an actual VIN yet.

come to think of it, as soon as I told them the bank I was using for financing and the amount I was financing, the VIN came right after that
