Have something stuck in the vent under the driver seat? Vacuum it out

I just went through this dilemma twice as my wife's bag fell and something fell into the plastic vent under the driver's seat. It rattled for months driving us nuts. Today I used one of the powerful vacuums for $1 at the carwash and stuck the nuzzle into the vent, while using both hands to cover the rest in efforts to block as much air flow as possible between the vacuum nuzzle and the vent. It worked! Note: you will not be able to recover the item (we still don't know what it was).

A friendly detail shop would do the same for you for free, and recover the 20k diamond too.

If you use your own vacuum you can put a filter of some sort (like panty hose) between the hose and nozzle and catch your stuff.

Thanks for this thread. I dropped a tiny memory card and could not find it. Fortunately it was new and didn't have valuable data on it.

The vent opening is huge. You can pick out the fallen items with your hands.
