Why ohhh why is it called "British English"?

Its just plain and simple........ "English" - its origins are from England for crying out load.

The options should be:

English
Scottish English
Irish English
Welsh English
Cornish English
American English
Any other English

There shouldn't be an 'American English'. the proper term should be 'Simplified English'

Louder for people in the back please.

My American relatives get a lot of stick from me regarding exactly this.
Recently they changed their tune and told me they speak 'American'.
Now they're making up languages that doesn't exist lol

Whilst you’re right I can’t really get worked up about this. It’s an American car made by an American company, the default “English” is going to be theirs.

As a Yank living in England - I'm not sure the superiority exhibited here is so appropriate. I've never had to live with as many "should of" instead of "should have", "their" vs "there" and other similar grammatical issues as I have had to here...:)

Also, keep in mind iOS' Siri works better with a US English set-up as there is a much larger user base that is used to tweak it.
