I was at the Honolulu Airport today. Drove through the Interisland, International and regular parking lots counting Tesla.
I found a few, 44 to be exact. But out of the 44 only 11 were ones that we had not counted before. That brings our Oahu count to 694.
VIN? We don't need no stinkin' VIN. Tag number, Bubba. That's how we count. You think we stop those cars we pass on the highway, going in the other direction to get their VINs? We don't need no stinkin' VIN.
Oh gosh, shucks, thanks. We didn't know we were doing such a good job of counting. Even when we see one that we think we have counted before, we collect the details again, particularly the battery size, because that's missing on too many on our list.
I just updated the Maui totals, reflecting new one's I've spotted over the past month or so. We are over 90 now, and should pass 100 soon, I expect. Tesla hired another ranger for Maui (so we have 2, now), I believe in anticipation of Model 3.
I noticed that there was a Model S with EV plates with the 3 numbers and letter A at the end. We are going to see more of these because of the numbers of EVs exceeded 9999.
