One other note - the temp plate dates that Tesla puts on seem really long. I always thought the standard period was 1-2 months after the delivery date, but my temp plate is dated 12-2018. o_O I did get an august 2020 safety check though.:p

Thanks.
From what I am reading on other parts of TMC, there's a few people upset because its taking longer than they expected to their tags. Tags, Inc. gets tags for Tesla for we Hawaii owners. I think the physical route includes sending paperwork to Hawaii, sending tags back to the mainland, and then back to Hawaii once sorted. I guess they are learning that they need to add some time to make sure you are not inconvenienced with a pullover while the process is going on. I would not sweat it. Its going to be fine. :)

So my delivery is pretty messed up.
Was originally Monday the 27th, but due to Hurricane Lane I asked to push it to Tuesday the 28th. Sure no problem.
They called me Monday afternoon and told me my car wasn't ready and rescheduled me for Friday.
I got a call last night at 6:50p saying my car was just received 10min ago and would not be ready for delivery at 9:30am, but later in the day.
Delivery manager called me a little while ago (I'm really hating receiving calls from Tesla now) and said my car didn't pass inspection and they need to order a part, so I need to wait probably another frickin month.
I want to cancel this but there is nothing out there like a Tesla.
Can we swear on here? cause this effing sucks.

This forum is great for venting and teslanxiety. Tesla delivery for me has never been perfect. They couldn't find my first car back in 2013 after it was built. My 2nd S was an inventory car and the delivery specialist said they couldn't release because there was an issue with the bumper and the paint. I later saw my car with the bumper off at the SC and freaked out. My X had the wrong mulroney sticker after I switched rims out so couldn't pick it up, then the door jam broke so took a week to get fixed. My X was here 3 weeks before I could pick it up! BUT after all these issues, I would still never own any other car brand again!! All the stress and frustration disappears after you finally get your car..fingers crossed there are no other issues after pickup ;)

My delivery specialist in Vegas is trying to get me another M3 replacement. That's cool that they're trying to help me.
Most of the frustration is on my trade in bc the longer I hold on to my car the more chance to screw up its trade in value.
Anyhow on the flip side my T-Sportline rims came in today... I feel a little better but then remember I dont have a car to put them on But they are nice tho...

I just noticed the monroney label that is in the glove box for my 3 doesn't list EAP among the options, but I do have an autopilot tab in the vehicle settings page, so I'm pretty sure it's activated. o_O It's only been about 50 miles, so I don't think AP is "calibrated" yet, so I can't turn it on the check. Also the auto wipers don't work, but I think I read somewhere else that because the wipers uses the cameras, they don't work until the AP calibration is done too.

I'm probably overreacting, but the wheels mix up has got me a little worried that the EAP I paid for is also not included.

Of course my pal Mugsy and his boys had something to do with your 2013 Model S getting "lost" for a while. The nerve of Nanimac to think she could take delivery of her blue S before I got my blue S. After my delivery, her car suddenly was found on some waterfront lot in L.A. or Oakland.

The wheels look great onehawaiian! Cant wait to see them mounted. I just ordered the t-sportline lowering springs yesterday. They have a 10% discount and free shipping sale right now for Labor Day weekend.

Aloha all,
Iceman and I are on the mainland, working from a laptop computer and driving the 50 States Model S. Don't tell Nanimac, but we have a blue Model 3 dualmotor being delivered in Honolulu in late November. We'll thus have a Tesla to use in joining future club outings on Oahu. Looking forward to getting back to the fun, and any time I'm hit with a wave of island-fever, the 50 State Model S awaits our adventures in the "Eastern 49" states.

Hi, I'm new here. I'm also a new Model 3 owner. I have a black Model 3 LR with EAP. I only have 190 miles on it and I am selling it. Not sure if there is a special place to create a post for selling things or not, or if it is even allowed. I knew that I wanted the AWD model and that it would take a while so I configured and took delivery of the Black Model 3 LR as soon as I got the e-mail. I figured it would be many months before I could get the 3D. Unfortunately (fortunately) I got the e-mail to configure my 3D a couple of weeks after I got the first Model 3. I can't buy my 3D until I sell the first one.

The car is amazing, but I'm trying really hard not to drive it much so that I keep the mileage low and keep the finish nice. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

madcow, You can post your Tesla for sale on here on TMC for free. I recommend you go back out to the home page and drill down to the bottom. There's a section For Sale. When you create your thread, detail its specs, post pictures and price. Put Hawaii in the Title so it jumps out at Hawaii folks. I also suggest, you look through our Hawaii section, for an existing Tesla for Sale in Hawaii thread, and post a simple note there pointing back to your For Sale thread. That avoids duplication, but one points to the other, and maximizes your visibility.

Thank you very much. I just posted and now I'm linking to it:

Pulled the trigger on the MidRange Model 3 on Thursday after getting some assurances from the Tesla Store Staff by email that the MR would more than likely be delivered before the end of the year and that they could refund my $2500 or credit it toward the purchase of the SR if it was not delivered before the end of the year. I sure hope their word is good. All of Elon's tweets and even the order page uses the $7500 tax credit in the savings calculations so it seems likely they are confident they will be able to fill these orders by the end of year otherwise it would be disingenuous of Tesla to use the $7500 tax credit figure. I was originally holding out for the SR version with PUP but looking at the numbers, if the SR schedule holds and MR is delivered before end of year, I'm paying $1250 for the extra range (since the SR would only qualify for 1/2 of the tax credit but if the SR gets further delayed, you could potentially only get 1/4 of the tax credit in which case I would actually pay more by waiting for the SR.

Even with that analysis, I still had trouble pulling the trigger knowing that some Republicans actually introduced bills to remove the caps for the EV tax credit but to have the credit start to phase out in 2022 vice in 10 years which was proposed by democrats earlier in the year.

H.R.7065 - 115th Congress (2017-2018): To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to establish a new phaseout of the credit for plug-in electric drive motor vehicles.

S.3582 - 115th Congress (2017-2018): A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to establish a new phaseout of the credit for plug-in electric drive motor vehicles.

I just know that now that I pulled the trigger, these bills or something similar will get passed because this is something that always happens to me. If I pull the trigger it passes, if not it would probably die. I did it to benefit all of you waiting for the SR:D. So all of you waiting for the SR, if the EV tax credit caps get removed and the tax credit is extended, you'll know who to thank:eek:. So, when you order your SR with full credit you should use my referral code. Don't forget to ask me;).

For those of you who have already received their cars (S 3 X) from Tesla, when uploading proof of insurance, did you wait for your VIN so your new car would be shown on your insurance or did you just upload proof of insurance on your existing vehicles since Hawaii is one of the 13 states listed which do not require a new vehicle to be shown on your insurance for delivery?

I waited for my VIN.

When you first place your order (give Tesla the $2,500), uploading proof that you already have insurance is all that is necessary. However, before your MVPA is provided, which usuallly happens just prior to delivery, Tesla will need proof that your Model 3 is covered, which should require having a VIN.

So long as you've got it in writing (i.e. they clearly spelled this out in the emails), you should be fine. But be prepared to have to do a bit of work to get them to honor it if you end up missing the deadline and switch your order. Lots of times, the front line contact/representative you're dealing with doesn't have the authority to actually do that transaction in their system. They might say, "No problem" and do it straight off or you could have to escalate it to an executive to get the okay. Things like this, you also tend to get very uneven experience even within a single company's sales or customer service department (i.e. some employees might know how to do it and some not, depending on training and experience). Regardless, the most that should be involved is a bit of phone calling and email forwarding, but don't expect it to necessarily just happen from the first person you talk to.

I received an email today from my ISA notifying me that my Model 3 has finished production and is currently being prepared for transportation to the islands. A tentative delivery appointment is scheduled for December 15, 2018 but could be moved up if the car arrives earlier so hopefully I'll not need to ask for a refund.

For those of you who have already received their cars, does the 5+ weeks from being notified by your ISA that your car has finished production to delivery seem reasonable? Seems long to me but maybe I'm just anxious to get the car.
