Had my 2nd row cup holders installed today. Very nice. Made of leather. They snap flat and totally out of the way or snap fully open to a decent sized fixed circumference. They can also be pulled taught around smaller circumference bottles if desired but don't snap to any other sizes except fully open.

I drove around a lot tonight with a tall water bottle in one snapped fully open. The bottle's circumference was smaller than the strap and there was a fair amount of play. Despite the loose fit and extension of the bottle far above the strap I was unable to topple the bottle despite some "spirited" driving, zippy cornering and driving over a number of rough roads.

My impression is that most but not all bottles/cups will be held upright by these. Not so sure how well these will work with small kids but they should be effective for adults even if somewhat out of the ordinary.

Can you snap some photos of what the drinks look like in the cup holders? I'm still not getting a clear idea of what these look like mounted and with drinks in them.

Be on the lookout for a Tesla unplugger.....
Silver Leaf EV plate #1703 will unplug you before the end of your charge.
I caught him today when I checked on my car. I was supposed to be done charging at 2PM. now it will be closer to 5PM.
to add insult to injury a quick glance at his dash showed he had all 3 charge LEDs lit meaning full charge for him...
it was not a 0% emergency which I could forgive, but to steal someone's charging session and not even need it...

Can you use this device to prevent being unplugged?

No, Last I heard on this device was that it was discontinued.
When I took the charger back I just rolled back over the cord so it couldn't be moved. Probably not the best solution due to wear and tear on the cord.
I had a nice "Thank You" note thanking them for disrupting my plans for the afternoon since I had to plug back in to complete my charge, but they had already left by the time I returned.
they did leave a note of their own thanking me for "sharing".:frown: I guess my mother was wrong, all that time growing up when my brother took my toys and smashed them counted as sharing with him.

I did report it to the Blaisdell parking staff, but they didn't seem interested.

Nothing against Leafs & their need to constantly charge everywhere they go, but they always seem to be taking up the EV spaces in the public lots. Frankly I don't really care much about charging since I'm near full most times anyway, but I'd like to enjoy the convenience of the dedicated EV stall more often. The only place I'm consistently able to use my EV parking "privileges" is at my doctors office (Hale Pawaa bldg) and Sheraton Waikiki.

The Leg really needs to get on putting some enforcement and penalty provisions into the law to make property owners comply with the 1% EV stall requirement.

Spleen - sorry for forgetting to take pics and post. There are some nice ones on the TM forum here:

I' have been very impressed with mine. They look like they are bogus and would not work whereas they are in fact extremely functional. Just pull the strap taut and the container is secure.

Thanks, I saw the photos on the main forum. They actually look pretty nice! Still trying to decide if we have enough people in the back seat where it'd be worthwhile to have them.

They cost $150 + HI tax total. That includes shipping and installation. As far as Tesla accessory prices go, that's hard to beat.

I had ordered one and was going to have it installed this Wednesday at the SC. However, my wife looked over the pictures included and she nixed the idea so I had to get a refund.
Sincerely sorry to hear that. They really do work (for adults at least, don't know about for kids) and fold completely out of the way when not in use.

Aaahh, its nice to be back in a Model S. Aaahhhh. Am I the only person that looks forward to driving to work and driving from work to home? Maybe not. So today, this afternoon, in my Model S, I left the parking lot headed down the on-ramp to Moanalua Fwy. As I get closer (its not too late to turn around), I see that traffic is bumper-to-bumper. This is something new, huh? I mean heavier than usual on Moanalua Fwy traffic. Traffic was not moving type traffic. And believe this or not, I smile. Yep, big T-grin. My first thought was "aaahh traffic, I will have to just sit in my car in traffic and not move for a while (BIG T-GRIN, now.)" So traffic crept along for 14 extra minutes for the two miles to my exit where I could ease down the off-on ramp to H3. Yes, I had to sit in my car for at least an extra 14 minutes longer for the ride home that usual. (Another BIG T-GRIN). Why does sitting in terrible traffic seem so much more fun now than it used to?

For me, opening the sun roof and rolling down the windows in traffic is what I do. Then I have the stereo on high and just enjoy the ride. The only problem is that sometimes someone yells at me about having a nice car.

That's okay. Unfortunately, none of the MS at the SC had the 2nd row cup holder for me to look at. I plan to make something to improvize.

I do the same thing during my nightly commute home...it's great looking up at the sky :). No one's ever yelled at me though!

I too have felt that the commute is too short since I've had the MS. What an unusual phenomenon. Especially since I discovered the "stand up comedy" channel on slacker. People must look over and see me laughing hysterically and think I've gone mad. In a way, I think I have. No ICE car made me this crazy and I've always enjoyed the cars that I owned before.

Umm. You are supposed to look at your map, see the red lines indicating where traffic is, and then take an alternate route while thinking everybody else is a sucker. :p

but with the navigation problems reported with firmware version 5.0 he was probably trying to drive through a pineapple field.
