Done most of the field tests and this project is going to be finalized and transformed to production in mid Sept.
Production period is around 3-4 weeks.

The switching mechanism of this HDMI interface box is done by either the CAN decoder (via OBD port) or the wireless button (315/433MHz), it also works with the HomeLink function for switching.

Now making some installation videos, FAQ, user manual, packaging etc....

Just to clarify here that, the previous mentioned "private sales" would only available for the people who made a pledge (backing the project) from the kickstarter page. Due to the kickstart project is not gonna go successful, therefore, the backers for this project would not get the product as describer from the kickstarter page, and for sure that there is not even charged a penny from the backers if the project is unsuccessful (that's the game rule of kickstarter, that backer only get charged if the project is successful).

Therefore, private sales would be most likely a direct deal (paypal payment and delivery from Hong Kong or China), or thru the eBay/Amazon/Taobao as mentioned in the previous page.

We are calculating all the costs recently and the final selling price will be posted very soon.

If the menu is used to switch the source for the video, can you still use the menu button to change the right scroll wheel functionality?

Yes

Please do a simple testing with your Menu button that, if your press and hold the Menu for 2 second , nothing happens but the switching is triggered. Which means, when you press the Menu button per your orginal use (press and release within 1 second), you can still use the Menu function.

Yes, audio delay is no clue, unless you add an external DSP to the MCU with the AUX in.

ETA would be mid / end Oct.

There are likely video playback apps that can delay the video to sync with the Bluetooth delay. VNC May be one

VLC, Plex etc. has settings to correct audio delay. The problem is the delay is different every time your phone connects - some software to determine delay would be brilliant, but doesn't seem to exist as of now. In theory possible to make at least.

Not to delay your efforts with a dumb question, but would it be possible to do the input switching with the button at the end of the AP stalk since Tesla has essentially abandoned this button?

Great idea! Let me check if it is possible to make a 100-150ms delay.
