Headlight periodically goes out

My driver headlight periodically stops working. It happens every month or two and this has been going on for about six months. If I go into headlight settings, turn it off and then back on it comes back on and is fine for another month or two. It almost seems like a software bug. I notice the light is not lit up on the dash screen, but there is no warning message. Curious if anyone else had this issue. 2016 85D built in February, 2016.

If you have HID headlights, that's actually the normal failure mode as the bulb burns out.

I had this problem with my 2015 70D maybe a year and a half ago. One headlight would go out periodically. This went on for a week or two then never happened again.

Yes, sometimes the "filament" will re-weld itself. I had that happen on a different car.
