Heated door handles...

...need to be a thing. In the northeast it's cold and we just had a mix of snow and rain. While my car had nothing of substance on it by this morning, for some reason the door handle was frozen so I had to give it an extra whack to pull out so the door can open.

The Y has a design change because the 3 had problems with this. The handle can now be pushed inwards slightly from the side that normally swings out. The theory is this will break the ice and you should now be able to open it like you normally would. Should work in mild freezing cases but very heavy freezing rain may still be a chore. In severe cases when we get a lot of freezing rain the windows, doors, trunk, wiper and anything that actually moves is frozen tight on any car.

I vote for no handles and side mirrors. Door should just open as you approach the car. The cameras can figure out who is at what door.

That’s nice, but what happens when the door seals are frozen to the car?
