Heavy coating driver front rim - seized caliper?

I have been noticing that (only) the drivers front rim is getting very dirty with a dark grayish coating and am wondering if I might have a sticking caliper which is causing the bake pad to drag. Has anyone experienced the same issue? Is there some way to confirm this is the issue without having to remove the pads on both sides and measuring the wear?

Was thinking of doing a long drive and immediately upon completion using a IR temperature gun to check both calipers and discs to see if there was a big temp difference. Does that make sense?

I have not noticed it pulling upon braking but of course regen is the primary way I slow down. Looking for any suggestions before I submit a service request.

Thanks.
