Dear Tesla owners who love their cars (yes, I know that you!),

You probably have a few ideas on what would make our car even better... If only Tesla did this or that in the next software update. Wouldn't that be great?

To help all of us get organized, I've created a website to do just that (MoreTesla). So far, 469 users have filed 290 items and voted 4,875 times.

In the spirit of improvement and feedback, I'd appreciate your feedback on what would make the site better. Also, please add your ideas and vote on the ideas already there, so that the most important ones move to the top.

Note, MoreTesla is not another forum. There are plenty of those already and this one is great! So, while the site let's you explain your vote for or against, it's not setup to back and forth dialog. Strictly ideas and votes. There's also a place for adding URLs, so when suggesting a new idea, it would be great to add a link to a TMC forum thread where the issue can be discussed in more detail.

Again, let me know what you think. Constructive feedback is always welcome!

Thanks,
Fred

My hopes/suggestions:

Side video when changing lanes.
Carwash mode
Camper mode
Bigger turn signal lights on screen
USB music indexed once and then info is stored. Reindexing a 256gig drive each time makes it a horrible experience.
simple playback of cam video
A true Atari joystick- smaller and usb.
Sirius Radio/apple music
timer to set warm up times m-f on a schedule

Great idea - I'll join the site with this original idea: how about true smart phone integration a la Hey Google/Hey Siri, managing the phone's music and podcast media from the Tesla screen, message notifications including text-to-voice and voice-to-text, Favorites in phone book, other standard smartphone features? You know - CarPlay...
Tesla + iPhone.jpg

CarPlay/video projection stuff is kind of kludge to me, it's designed for these small head units where it takes over the screen and you end up with this sort of dual-personality where you have the native car UI for some functions, and CarPlay for others, it's a mess. I'd rather they just work on eliminating all the reasons you want CarPlay and keep the whole UI native. Add text message integration, best of class navigation, better media controls, whatever, just go down the list and check everything off one after another.

1) Your "tags" on issues should be links (clickable), that take you to all of the issues for that tag.

For instance, I want to add an issue, but want to check if it has already been reported on, so as to not duplicate it if it already exists. I see that a particular issue has "Music/Entertainment" tag, but clicking on it does nothing.

I know that I can use FilterByCategory option, but clicking one of these should basically do that automatically for the user.

2) You might want to consider making the tags much more granular. "Music/Entertainment" is a bit broad. In fact, every menu button/option on the tesla screen could be a tag, thereby offering complete granularity. I know that this basically requires you to create a tree of options, which makes things a bit more complicated for you programmatically. However, if offered, I could go to the exact feature (eg. my issue regarding Music/USB/Albums) and see any issues logged for that exact feature. If I don't see my issue, I could then add it; and if I do see my issue, I could then vote on it.

3) I'm not getting a scroll-bar on any of your pages when using Chrome (but all is OK on Firefox).

Thx,
Spanky

Love my Model 3! Being a "senior citizen," my vision is likely not nearly as good as the engineers that developed the beautiful center display for the Model 3. I only need glasses to see things well closer than about three feet. (a condition shared by many over 50!). The size of text on the display is too small for me to see without glasses, but I don't need glasses for driving. My recommendation is to make the text larger for miles remaining on charge and time. See current display on top and my mock-up with slightly larger (but visible without glasses) on the bottom.

Yes, I'm waiting for Tesla to come out with a "vision challenged" menu for those of us needing reading glasses. It would just increase the size of all screen text. But I will say as I've become accustomed to the operation of my Model 3, the small text size is not so much of a problem (because I know where everything is and how it works).
