Help me! I'm from Denmark and need a friend in Belgium ;-)

Hi Tesla friends in Belgium.


Sorry for writing in English - I don't know how to write in the language you speak in Belgium (actually I don't know the name for that ...)


I am looking for a Belgian who can help me! My situation is that I have ordered a pre-owned P85+ at Tesla Belgium - but Tesla won't sell it to me because they need to register the car to a Belgian. The car is to my father. I have bought a car my self at Tesla Sweden last month and I had to do the same there. Found a Tesla friend (found him on Tesla Forum - Alt om Tesla Model S / Tesla Model X - Teslaforum.dk) living in Sweden - and he was nice to help me - so the car got registred to him, paid by me and I picked it up and went home to Denmark and registered it to me there. And that was it ;-) And I LOVE the car! It was a P85 from 2014.


So why did I buy in Sweden and Belgium? Because I couldn't find one at Tesla Denmark to a good price - actually the car in Denmark was approximately 15.000 Euro more expensive.


I'm a little late: As you probably know we in Denmark are going to pay tax for electric cars from 2016 - so a well-equipped Tesla P85D will cost approximately 140.000 Euro MORE in January than today ;-(


So as you can imagine - I'm in a hurry ;-) I need to bring this car home to Denmark before Christmas ...


What will I need you to do:
Tell me you'll help me and give me you number/e-mail - and I will get in contact with you
E-mail the Tesla Specialist Delivery (Pieter-Jan Van Haeverbeke) and give him your personal details - so he can register the car to you.
At the same time I will sign a document that the car is mine - and I'll refund if you'll have any expenses (insurance is the only one, I believe). And you will sign the document that you will only get the car registered to you because you are helping me a lot ;-)
Order an insurance in Belgium in your name (I'll pay whatever that will cost)
I'll pay the car directly to Tesla.
A couple of days after my dad and I will get to Brussel and pick up the car - and we will get back home and register it to Denmark - and hopefully we will live happily ever after! A few days after the car will be unregistred in Belgium - and you'll need to terminate the insurance.


Tesla Belgium (Pieter-Jan and several other) are already informed about my situation and my eagerness to find you!


I hope some one can help me!


If not - maybe some of you can recommend a lawyer or a company or something that might help ;-)

I knew there was some kind of incentive in Denmark to buy this year, but didn't know it was this big a difference.

At first, I just had to think of the Nigerian scams for a second... Good luck in arranging this scheme. If it doesn't work out, or you need even more Tesla's, there may be a few owners here wanting to sell and there is a Tesla-trader who succesfully arranges for exports to Denmark here in the Netherlands.

I'm defently not from Nigeria (even though I sometimes use Google Translate ...)
The reason for this specific car is excately what I wrote. That was the best price. I know it's possible to buy pre-owned in Denmark and to import thrugh a trader. I don't know why Tesla Belgium sold this car so much cheaper than Tesla DE, AT, NL & DK - but it is pre-owned and I guess the price is defined of what they payed for it.
I think I'm done with buying Tesla for now ;-) One for me and one for my dad must be enough!

Yes - but I will have a contract that says it's mine - but then I probably will have some problems selling it again. But the price was good - so I think I could find a Belgian

Denmark is crazy at the moment. All Tesla from Europe is heading to us these months ;-)
I would't see why it shouldn't be registred in Denmark - but it's good to have a plan B

We have huge taxes on cars today. Electric cars get incremental tax from next year - and will be fully taxed from 2020
A BMW M5 with out any extra equipment costs 250.000 Euro in Denmark.

You can get a Belgian plate and an insurance yourself.

The tip from Robrecht is a good one. As a matter of fact Tesla Belgium worked exclusively with Bios Transit untill end of august 2015. So, imho, you can ask Pieter Jan to contact them on behalf of yourself. They are specialised in registration for import and export and also provide short term insurances, as mentioned in the post of DjiM.

At last Tesla also found out that it was possible to sell the car without Belgian registration - and yes - they recommanded BIOS. So at this moment, my parents and my sister is in a car from Charleroi to Tesla Motors in Brussels ;-)
Have to pick up some documents there and then go to BIOS and pick up the transit plates (220 Euro) and the return to Tesla to pick up the car. And then tonight they'll be back in Denmark and register it tomorrow ...
