Help on GA hotel charging Atlanta to Savannah?

Going to FL in December via Nashville, Atlanta, Macon and Savannah (hope for SC around Savannah and down I-95 by then). I am looking for a hotel on the way (South of Atlanta to Macon) for overnite charging. I checked the various sites and it looks kind of bleak. Is there any local info I am missing.

There is a Hilton Garden Inn on the north side of Atlanta (I-75) that has a J-plug. But probably 40 miles from where you were looking. I would try to look for hotels near a RV park. You could leave your car at the RV park, and then walk to the hotel.

This RV park (not sure if they have NEMA 14-50R, or "50 Amp" connections) seems to have cabins, and is across the street from some hotels. It is near Atlanta Motor Speedway, but right off the interstate.

This RV park is just the first hit I had. I am sure there are a LOT near this area. As this is near Atlanta Motor Speedway, and those giant ovals attract RVs like Florida attracts old people.

I do not recommend either of these places, as I have never been to either one. But in my experience Hilton Garden Inns are nice hotels, but the restaurant food isn't very good and generally overpriced.

Thanks ES I will look at the RV parks. I will post again if I find anything interesting. Does anyone know if the charger on the square in Macon is safe for an overnight charge and if there is a decent hotel close by?

There is an owner in Statesboro, GA who is going to be offering free charging for MS owners on his HPWC soon at his microbrewery. That would make an ATL>Savannah trip much easier (especially if you have twin chargers) There was a recent post on the ATL facebook group about that - http://on.fb.me/TeslaFansATL

Doesn't sound ideal for your trip but there are charging spots in downtown Atlanta that might help.

Georgia Power Building - 241 Ralph McGill Blvd - Two free J-type chargers in the front parking lot (24 security), 10-15 minute walk to numerous hotels.
Southern Company - 30 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd - Paid parking in secure deck (may need to enter during business hours), blink paid J-type chargers. 5-10 minute walk.

Enjoy!
