Help verifying my setup with Wall Charger

i need some help..

so i went to home depot and looked at the 1" PVC Conduit for running the wires behind wall, into crawl space..etc..

However, once it gets into the wall - they dont make 90 degree adapter to go into a gang box. And the gang box itself doesnt accept 1" either.

do you just use some adaptor to go down from 1" to 3/4? Same applies going into the panel box.

There is no "ready to go R/G/B wire bundle', am i right?

Any further comments?
There is not.

Your local home depot or lowe's might not even have red #4 thhn available by the foot. (mine is out of stock...) though it is acceptable to use black for both hot lines, as long as you mark with red tape for either L1 or L2.

You can use an adaptor, but be aware that the inside diameter of the pvc adapter is much smaller than 3/4, and it's going to be pretty tight with the 2 #4 cables plus your ground.

Though I tested mine with 2 #4s and a #8 thhn ground and it "fit"...

Just be careful if you're pulling through this fitting because it'll chafe the hell out of your cables. Would try to make your bends in an oversized L body, or in a 90° sweep.

i changed my designed. so this is what i did (I am half way done)

1) I Bought this liquid tight conduit (total $60)

2) I bought a 50 feet 6awg RED and a 6awg Black and a 8awg Green THHN from HD. (total $170)

3) Bought a 60A Double pole siemens breaker

4) Ran the entire conduit directly from panel into crawl space and then into the garage wall, into a metal junction box, then back into the wall charger.

I ran the conduit and will be fishing the the red/black/green wire tonight.

I also bought these accessories / tools:

Doesn’t the breaker for EV charging need to be GFCI per code?

I’m no expert and suck at this stuff. Had electrician run a 100 amp sub panel to garage. They swear the calculations say it’s OK but we will see. I limit the Tesla to 40amp. Thing is, I have a 5 ton A/C and pool with its own 70 amp sub panel and I use an electric heat pump for the pool.

Have yet to run into any issues after a week hitting high 90’s with the pool, AC, and car charging.

Got my install completed !

Interesting that you chose a single gang box to gather your wires.

Looks slick.

Enjoy your 48a charging experience!
The wire was one piece going from Panel into wall charger - the gang box is just there since I cannot bent the liquid tight conduit in a 90 degree coming out from the wall.

So i put in a single gang box just to route it to the right side. I mean looking back - i would have chosen a double metal box just to leave myself more room inside.

Yeah. That's what I meant by interesting. Glad you got talked out of using Romex... It would have been even tougher to make that 90° turn, definitely would have needed the double gang box.
