Herbert Diess Out at VW - Will He Join Tesla?

Just saw the unions in Germany have finally pushed out Herbert Diess at VW. What's the odds of him now moving to Tesla as CEO, considering Musk's personal admiration of him?

Pretty sure he and Elon are buds. There was a rumor before that he would replace Elon to give Elon more time for other projects, so it wouldn’t shock me at all if he joined Tesla. Maybe not as CEO initially, but as a senior-level exec.

I just read VW was going to cut the battery size on the US ID.4, so the range would match the GM Bolt.

I'm almost pretty sure that Herbert Diess already has a job in China, which is VW first EV market.

China has about 450 EV companies, so Herbert Diess who can be considered the father of the ID.3 and ID.4
would certainly takes the lead of any major Chines EV company which are so desperate to invade Europe, and then the US.

I cannot imagine Herbert Diess reporting to Elon Musk.

Another option, because Herbert Diess is 63 year old, is to take a government position in Germany,
like transportation minister or something like this.

Diess doesn’t fit the culture of Tesla. Also VW will be paying him to sit at home for the next two years. Hard to beat that
