Hi, I have a RWD Model 3.
When I'm driving on a highway and have my foot on the accelerator very lightly such that the green bar on the screen that indicates regenerative braking is like half an inch long (so maybe like 20% of max), I can hear this high-pitched low-volume whirring sound. When I put my foot on the brakes, I don't hear this sound. And I'm pretty sure I don't hear this sound when I take my foot off the accelerator completely (i.e., when regenerative braking is at its max).
Is this normal? FWIW, I hear a similar high-pitched whirring sound when I accelerate hard but that's less noticeable since it's dampened by other noises. It's similar to the sound this Reddit user posted: Does anyone else hear this sound under hard acceleration? : teslamotors
Thanks!
