I'm trying to understand the benefits of a high-powered audio sytem in a vehicle. I think the premium audio in my Model S has a 200W audio system, or thereabouts. I was just reading the specs on the Rivian R1T and noted that it has a 1,400W audio system. The first thing that I thought was, "WHY?" The audio volume in my S is plenty loud and sounds fine to my ears, especially with road noise in the background. What is the benefit of all that extra power? I think I'd rather have the additional 5 miles of range. :D

Wattage != SPL, i.e. more watts doesn't automatically equal higher loudness or Sound Pressure Level (SPL). Higher powered audio systems when used with high efficiency speakers will result in an audio system that can play louder and cleaner without distortion, given a lower powered audio system.
