Unless the person can provide a copy of the receipt, I'm not sure if Tesla would honor the warranty. If that's the case, you can find Gen2 version new on ebay for about $330 shipped.

The way the warranty is worded, Tesla is on the hook for all wall connectors that are manufactured and supplied by Tesla. The ebay wall connectors seems to be mostly drop-shipped directly from Tesla, so the warranty should apply. Not sure anyone has tried, though. Might be a hassle.
