Would it really be worth all this just to miss hitting 200k in the USA before the end of Q2?
Years ago Elon answered that they might do that, nodding, meaning that it was more likely and an acknowledgement of a potentially good idea, but he wasn't exactly sure.

I think this means that Elon thinks they would like to keep that "maybe" for customers, so they will still "maybe" hit 200k after a quarter change line.

It may be more about doing what he said and doing what some expectations of what might happen than doing what is most sensible. That's as good a reason as any when the rest is guesswork. But it also means that any internal forecasting reasons brought up seem to not highly counteract that.

There will be an effort to kill it or revise it so that GM and Tesla customers can benefit.

The status quo means almost all the credits go to help foreign automakers sell cars.

This would make sense. I think an effort to kill it is entirely most likely, a large number of republicans were already trying to do this last year as part of the tax reform effort. The House plan would have killed them as of 2017-12-31, but it was changed in the Senate plan.

I hear you. My 8000's VIN came the same week as others were getting 12000 VINs, and the thruput was MUCH lower then. I wondered where mine had been too. Good news is there was no change until the 17000's got new seats. The car has been perfect (other than a slight noise over speed bumps, getting fixed this week).

Its all gonna be water under the bridge soon. It will be the VW Bug times all over again. Teslas everywhere. Herbie the Lovebug really will have FSD

VIN 46670 just posted to my account yesterday.

I'm blown away by how quickly we got a delivery date. Received our invite this week with everyone else. I configured and ordered the car a day later. Then yesterday I'm getting bugged by the delivery specialist via e-mail to submit insurance, loan details, etc. After several e-mails back and forth, I now have a delivery appointment scheduled for July 5th!

I'm excited to be getting the car this quickly, but I thought I was going to have at least a couple more months to prepare, get a charger installed, etc, so now I'm scrambling.

Is anyone else experiencing this sudden acceleration in deliveries? I'm in San Diego, if that matters.

I'm almost in the same boat. Ordered 6/17, confirmed order 6/28, received VIN 6/29 and picking up 7/3. HPWC sitting in the box in my garage. Thought I would have at least a few more weeks to get it installed. Just for grins I put down another $1000 reservation yesterday to see how long it takes to receive the order invite.
